Bodrum-Gocek: Charter Cruise

Bodrum (ancient Halicarnassos) is Turkey's premiere vacation town and the most popular point of departure for Blue Cruises. In addition to the laid-back atmosphere and vivid nightlife of this international resort town, other attractions include the Castle of St. Peter, which dates back to the Crusades, and now houses a museum of underwater archaeology, the Mausoleum of Halicarnassos, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World built by King Mausolus, and an ancient Roman theatre.

In this cruise, we sail south along the Turquoise Coast to the peaceful, exclusive town of Gocek, set at the far northwest corner of Fethiye Gulf. Along the way, we visit the Hellenistic ruins of dramatic, windswept Knidos and the Lycian tombs of Caunos. Shore excursions are optional and may sometimes require a small fee for overland transport, guides or admission to archaeological sites.

The star-filled skies, invigorating sea breezes, pine-covered hills and rays of golden sun playing among the sparkling waters of secluded bays are yours to luxuriate in. Relax, savour all the timeless pleasures sun and sea have to offer, and leave the rest to us. You've embarked on a Blue Cruise...

Detailed Itinerary:

Day 1... Board your sailing yacht in Bodrum. Enjoy a welcome drink and receive a brief orientation about the yacht and the cruise. Dinner and overnight in Bodrum Harbour.

Day 2... Cruise to Mersincik for our first stop and lunch. Dinner and overnight in Knidos, at the mouth of Gokova Bay.

Day 3... Arrive at Datca after breakfast. If desired, visit this small village until midday. Choose between dinner and overnight in Datca or in a nearby secluded bay.

Day 4... Cruise to Bozburun, where you may have a chance to see a yacht under construction in this well-known ship-building town. After lunch, cruise to Bozukkale, a bay above the entrance of which stands an ancient castle. Dinner and overnight.

Day 5... We begin sailing after breakfast, reaching Ekincik after about two hours. Depending on the wishes of the group, we can take an excursion to the ancient city of Caunos, where you'll be amazed by the Lycian rock tombs carved out of the sheer cliff sides. You also have an opportunity to take a mud bath in the curative hot springs the area is famous for. Plus, we can cruise through the watery maze of reeds on the delta of the Dalyan River to Iztuzu, a sandy, expansive beach that is one of the last nesting grounds of the endangered loggerhead Caretta Caretta turtles. Dinner and overnight in one of Ekincik's bays.

Bedri Rahmi Bay

Day 6... After breakfast, cruise for approximately 3.5 hours to Agalimani, behind Kurdoglu Bay, for lunch and a swimming stop. Arrive at Bedri Rahmi Bay for dinner and overnight.

Tersane Bay

Day 7... Departure after breakfast to Tersane Island. After lunch, we cruise through Gocek Gulf, with stops in bays like Manastir and Sarsala. Last dinner and overnight in Gocek harbour or a nearby bay.

Day 8... Disembark in Gocek after breakfast.
